Applying to EMS

The Office of Enrollment Management is accepting applications for some grades for the 2017-2018 academic year, as well as applications for all grades for the 2018-2019 academic year.

If you are an applicant who is reapplying from a previous year, please contact our offices via phone or email and speak with our staff before filling out an application. Your fee will be waived.

Middle School Applicants generally take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) and have those scores submitted in order to complete an application to Elisabeth Morrow. Other forms of standardized testing may be accepted as well, please inquire.

We expect children to have the academic language to comprehend text, math problems, and understand the academic language associated with social studies (history) and science.

Candidates must be of qualifying age on or before October 1.

We encourage parents to tour the campus and see our nature-filled 14 acre wooded campus.

Step 2: Apply

We are currently accepting applications for some grades including the threes, fours and kindergarten for 2017-2018 as well as applications for all grades for 2018-2019.

If you are an applicant who is reapplying from a previous year, your fee will be waived.

You will be contacted by your special Admissions Team guide who will personally assist you through every phase of your admissions process.

Debbie Abitante is the guide for Lower School and Chilton House (threes through fourth grade) and Laura Khutorsky is the guide for Middle School (fifth through eighth grades). Nyafa McCloggan is your guide for making appointments and building your file. Kathleen Visconti, Director of Enrollment Management, will meet with all of you when you arrive to tour, and can answer all Financial Aid questions.

Step 3: Complete our Parent Questionnaire

The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid is accepting applications for some grades, including early childhood and kindergarten, for the 2016-2017 academic year, as well as applications for all grades for the 2017-2018 academic year.

If you are an applicant who is reapplying from a previous year, please contact our offices via phone or email and speak with our staff before filling out an application. Your fee will be waived.

It's best for you and your child if our Admissions Committee reviews your child's file only once it has been completed. To that end, our office will be in touch with you throughout the process to alert you should your child's file be missing any important documentation. You are certainly free to call or email to see that the required documents have been received.

There are two parent questionnaires: one for threes through kindergarten and another for first through eighth grade. Please fill out the form applicable to your child and return it to the admissions office via email or post.

Step 4: Provide Official Transcripts and Recommendations

The Admission Committee requests that the most current transcripts and teacher recommendations be forwarded from the candidate’s current school to The Elisabeth Morrow School. We ask a parent to sign a Request for Information form and submit it to the current school.
For very young applicants (If you do not receive written documentation of your child's progress from his/her current school throughout the year) please skip this portion of the application.

Middle school applications must take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or some other form of standardized testing and have those scores sent to Elisabeth Morrow to complete their application.

Step 5: Candidate Playgroup/Visit and Parent Interview

After the application has been submitted, the admissions office will contact you to arrange a classroom/playgroup visit. Parent interviews are optional and we are always happy to arrange a conversation with our division heads, faculty members or other families. Just let us know how we can help you!

Step 6: Admissions Committee Review of Candidate's File

A full listing of our required admissions appointment dates and our notification deadlines will be available in the fall.

Any applications completed after set dates will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

After January 10, we are pleased to accept applications and tuition assistance applications on a rolling basis (if space is available in select grades).

We are pleased to consider applications for mid-year enrollment as space permits.
