Admissions

Thank you for your interest in The Elisabeth Morrow School. Please take time to explore the information we have on our website. I also encourage you to join us on one of our several tours and open houses that are held throughout the year. As stated in the letter written by David Lowry, Head of School, seeing the students and teachers in action in the classrooms and on our beautiful campus will help you understand what a special place this is.

Established in 1930 in the New York metropolitan area, The Elisabeth Morrow School is an independent country day school that provides a coeducational program for students from age three through grade eight.

For eighty years, The Elisabeth Morrow School has offered a unique, comprehensive and rigorous educational experience to its students. Located on fourteen acres in Englewood, New Jersey, the campus includes six buildings, four state-of-the art computer labs, two gymnasiums, three science labs, three libraries containing over 30,000 volumes, an athletic field, a certified wildlife habitat with nature trails, running brook, forest, working gardens and three playgrounds.

Located nine miles from Manhattan’s Upper West Side, The Elisabeth Morrow School’s community includes families from Bergen, Rockland, Passaic, Morris, Essex, Union, and Hudson Counties as well as New York City.

The experienced and dedicated faculty and extensive facilities foster academic excellence and intellectual curiosity. The comprehensive curriculum focuses on the intellectual, social and character development of children. Students develop a passion for learning in the child-centered program that is encompassed by a strong sense of community among students, teachers, families and staff. Each child is greeted personally with a handshake in the morning upon arrival. The School offers child care, after school programs, and a six-week summer program among its many auxiliary programs.

We look forward to meeting you, learning about your children and introducing you to our community. The first step is to request a packet of information and attend a campus tour by completing the online inquiry form or by contacting the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid at 201-568-5566 ext. 7212

The Elisabeth Morrow School accepts applications for all grades (except 8th grade) throughout the year.  Families interested in applying to the School after the ISAAGNY notification dates are encouraged to complete the process regardless of the time of year.  The purpose of notification dates are to provide a deadline for those who require a decision by a set date.  Notification dates do not necessarily mark the completion of an admissions season.  Please contact the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid for more information.
