History
Elisabeth Morrow was passionate about education and envisioned a school where students would develop academically, socially, and ethically within a truly supportive environment. In 1930 her long awaited dream of quality education in early childhood became a reality. With a smile and outstretched hand she and Constance Chilton, her fellow graduate from Smith College, greeted forty students and parents who stepped through the doors of the first Little School.
That warm and simple morning handshake continues as the Four C's: courtesy, cooperation, consideration, and compassion every day at The Elisabeth Morrow School.
Since the mid-1950's the school has expanded to meet the needs of a growing student body, enlarging its campus on the grounds of the Morrow Family estate to provide intellectual stimulation for 500 students from nursery through sixth grade.
In 2004-5, we added a new middle school so that students may complete their education through Grade Eight. |
