THE 11TH ANNUAL ELISABETH MORROW SCHOOL SUMMER STRING FESTIVAL TO APPEAR LIVE ON THE TODAY SHOW

New Jersey, August 19, 2006 - The young musicians from the Elisabeth Morrow School Summer String Festival will be featured LIVE on the TODAY SHOW on Saturday, August 19, 2006 between 8:30 and 9:00 AM on Channel 4.

The 11th year of The Elisabeth Morrow School Summer String Festival will be held from August 14-18, 2006 at The Elisabeth Morrow School Campus in Englewood, NJ for children ages four to twelve. For five days in August, over 200 young violinists, violists, cellists, and harpists will rehearse Bach, Beethoven and Bartok. They will also participate in drama, science and computer classes, play sports and eat ice cream on The Elisabeth Morrow School campus under the guidance of Amelia Gold.

Gold, Music Director for The Elisabeth Morrow School Summer String Festival and Music Teacher for students at The Elisabeth Morrow School, is a Julliard graduate and accomplished violinist. She has accompanied Madonna, toured will the Julliard Orchestra in France and coached Meryl Streep for her role in Music of the Heart.

Over 300 children auditioned for the Festival last May, some from as far away as Japan and France. Among the accepted students, 80 are enrolled at The Elisabeth Morrow School. One-third of the children who were chosen by Gold to participate will receive scholarships funded by private donations. A team of highly trained faculty and 60 returning String Festival alum provide the students with individualized and in-depth training.
