For more than 85 years, the Elisabeth Morrow School has offered a comprehensive and rigorous threes-eighth grade education to students from Bergen, Hudson and Rockland counties and New York City. EMS students are known by their teachers and peers, challenged to pursue their fullest potential and inspired to become thinkers and leaders who have a real impact in the community.

STEP 1: Visit our amazing 14-wooded acre campus!

You have many opportunities to visit EMS!

Small group tours of our beautiful 14-acre campus are offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. Register for a tour date online to see engaged learning in action.

We also host many events open to families such as EMS Gives Back and may even be in your neighborhood. Check our Admissions Calendar for further details.

If you are an applicant who is reapplying from a previous year, your fee will be waived. You are certainly welcome to call or email to see that the required documents have been received.

STEP 3: Provide Official Transcripts and Recommendations

Use the Transcript Request Form below to forward the most current transcripts and teacher recommendations from your child's current school to The Elisabeth Morrow School. The Admissions Committee also request Teacher Recommendations from your child's current school.

For very young applicants (If you do not receive written documentation of your child's progress from his/her current school throughout the year) please skip this portion of the application. We also accept the Common Form from any consortium.

Middle School applicants, students entering fifth through eighth grade, must take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) and have those scores submitted in order to complete an application.

STEP 4: EMS Playgroup/Visit and Parent Interview

After the application has been submitted, the Admissions Office will contact you to arrange a classroom/playgroup visit for your child. Parent interviews are optional, and we are always happy to arrange a meeting for you with our division heads, teachers or families. Just let us know how we can help you!

STEP 5: Admissions Committee Review & Notification

Any applications completed after set dates will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We are here to help!
