How Tuition Assistance is Awarded

EMS is committed to providing families with flexible payment options and tuition assistance. Admission and tuition assistance decisions are made independently of each other; tuition assistance is based solely on the family's financial resources.

The Tuition Assistance Committee will review all completed files, and approved tuition assistance will then be communicated to recipients with their enrollment contracts if their file is complete.

Our school uses a service called TADS which provides need-based tuition assistance analysis, including recommendation of what a family can reasonably contribute toward tuition. All information from TADS is kept confidential.

How to Apply

Application Information

The Office of Enrollment Management is accepting applications for some grades for the 2018-2019 academic year, as well as applications for all grades for the 2019-2020 academic year. See our How to Apply page for step-by-step instructions.

If you are an applicant who is reapplying from a previous year, please contact our offices via phone or email and speak with our staff before filling out an application. Your fee will be waived.

Middle School Applicants generally take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) and have those scores submitted in order to complete an application to EMS. Other forms of standardized testing may be accepted as well, please inquire.

Young children may enter EMS with limited English Skills. In the fourth grade and above, we expect students to have the academic language to comprehend text, math problems, and understand the academic language associated with social studies (history) and science.

Candidates must be of qualifying age on or before October 1.

Get to know us better! EMS hosts a number of interactive and kid-friendly events, on our beautiful 14-acre campus and in your neighborhood!

THURSDAY, JANUARY 10 • 6:30-8:00 p.m. 

Parents: learn how to encourage your child's ability in original thinking, design and problem solving in a workshop led by EMS educators at Hudson's House of Play. You will also create packets of design activities to do with your kids at home and gain a firsthand view into EMS' innovative STEAM curriculum. Children six and under play for free while the adults are designing. Space is limited. RSVP here.

Back by popular demand! Enjoy a FREE performance by the renowned EMS orchestra. Children will have the opportunity to meet our student-musicians, try out string instruments and enjoy carnival snacks, face painting, and balloon animals. RSVP is appreciated to help us plan for this event!

Bring your two-year old to the EMS Campus for  Songs and STEAM for Twos. This hour long program features an age-appropriate STEAM activity and a fun musical sing-along with our early childhood teachers.

This event will take place in Chilton House on the EMS campus. Advance registration is appreciated. Reserve your space!
