Chilton House 2022–2023

Enhancements and upgrades in Chilton House include a realignment of learning targets to set the stage for success as children’s learning progresses; a new 2s program classroom, cross-grade and cross-program opportunities for leadership and mentoring; additional faculty, and new programming to support families and caregivers of young children.

Little School 2022–2023

Little School has introduced new technology that supports research-based literacy instruction and trained its homeroom teachers in the Hochman Method for writing in all subjects and grades. The school’s project-based learning journey continues with a new pilot program and engineering program.

Morrow House 2022–2023

Morrow House has integrated Responsive Classroom, an evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning, and expanded its leadership programming. Improvements in learning support and enrichment opportunities have enhanced personalized learning, while new electives and units of study are revitalizing our dynamic curriculum.

Enrollment 2022–2023

This academic year saw the largest number of new students in more than a decade, with application numbers having risen by 20%. New efforts have been implemented to continue to expand our applicant pool.

Advancement 2022–2023

Since launching the Apple Tree Fund in October, The Elisabeth Morrow School is at 90% of its targeted fundraising goal with upcoming events planned to help reach 100%, including our Spring Benefit, Alumni Lunch Panel, and Young Alumni Pizza Party.

Expenditures and Revenue 2022–2023

More than 85% of the school’s annual expenses support educational programs in the form of faculty and staff salaries, benefits, program and instructional materials, and financial aid. The school’s physical plant, technology services, general administrative support, and capital improvements account for the remaining 15%.

Auxiliary Programs 2022–2023

Our Auxiliary Program has seen a 25% increase in participants for After School Adventures and have offered more choices in programming, including private instrumental music lessons. This year, the Junior Eagle Sports Program and Spring Break mini camp have returned.

Communications and Marketing 2022–2023

The communications and marketing team has completed a number of enhancements, including identifying and refining a consistent message to prospective families that aligns the school’s distinctive strengths with their priorities, launching a newsletter, enhancing myEMS, and improving emergency notifications.

Facilities and Operations 2022–2023

The Elisabeth Morrow School has continued efforts to upgrade its facilities to match its incredible programs. EMS’ strategy is driven by program needs as defined by the strategic plan, as well as the continual need for maintenance and modernization while being true to the original campus design.
